i desperately want to get rid of a bristle worm problem in my tank. i know that orchid dottybacks will eat them, but ive also heard they might not be compatible with some fish. would anyone tell me what kinds of fish to avoid if i end up buying the dottybacks, or should i just get a bristle worm trap?

Bristle worms are a good part of the CUC. They also help keep your sand turned over.

I would say a trap would be better, its never a good idea to get a fish for a specific problem, after it eats all the worms, you may regret buying it, and I have heard they are as hard as damsels to get out of a tank. They also might not eat all of the bristle worms

The dottyback may pick on smaller fish, and cant be kept with any other basslet/dottybacks they also like a cave and places to hide'

Bristles are an excellent addition to the CUC but if you really want to get them there are a few good traps on the market
