    Hello, Everyone!I'm new to Reef Keeping. I started my first aquarium/reef in mid October 2006. I'm looking forward to getting to know the 3reef comunity. I have 2 kids. Isaiah (Boy) turns 4 on the 23rd and Skylar (Girl) is 7 months old.I don't have any corals, yet. Kinda skittish because I lost my BTA today(Not a Rose Anemone):( I'm not sure if it was due to insufficient light or the brown diatom/algae that sprouted. I have been trying hard to get rid of the algae but have not been successful at this time. I incorporated a protein skimmer 2 days ago and a resine absorber in the filter. I'll see how that goes:)I hope to hear from you soon. Good bye, friends!

    Welcome to 3reef! You will find this site very informative and should help you with establishing a successful and enjoyable tank for many years to come!
    Anemone's are very fragile and unless you have good water parameters and proper lighting, your anemone won't live long. My guess is that your anemone died as a result of either the improper light or sub par water quality as oppossed to the diatom issue!
