I have never ordered anything live online but have been browsing corals online. The colors look way better than anything I have ever seen in person are they higher quality corals or is it pictures being taken under all actinic light and having the colors played with to make them super saturated?

Basically I want to know if it is like the Big Mac from Mcdonalds on the commercial where you really get the lump of crap thrown together on a bun or do you really get a perfectly put together Big Mac?? In specific I am looking at AquaSD

Most reputable places tell you what lighting its under so you have an idea as to what its going to look like, but yes, they do make their product look as good as they can to sell it;)

Some do this more then others. I have ordered maybe 40 corals from ASD and only one has looked any different then the picture. I would have to recommend them

Thats very reassuring because the pictures make the corals look so vibrant they seem to pop I was sure they were altered and would look nothing like that in person! Any other sites you guys highly recommend for corals?

I have ordered from ASD and ReefPets on Ebay before. Probably 10 times... Very happy with coloration each time. Mostly SPS corals.

If you don't have any yet, I recommend you save your money... They are extremely addicting. :)

They way the polyps flow in the current, the colors that seem to appear and change throughout the year. The different growth patterns... I just love them.

It is also the fastest way to loose $100. I have never lost a softie, except xenia. I cannot tell you how many $$ I have lost in SPS. They are very demanding in some ways.

As for LPS / Softies. I have gotten a couple of good ones from ReefPets before. Mostly zoas and Acan Lords. All colors have matched their pictures very well.

Yea right now no SPS only some softies mushrooms and lps and everything seems to be doing well. My xenia was my first colony and it exploded but I have heard it seems they either love or hate your tank.
Ill look into ReefPets havnt heard of them before thanks for the suggestion
