If that's for your 110 gallon you might find it's too small. Make sure it has the capacity to handle all of your backsiphoning when you turn your return pump off. Also is it going to be big enough to hold all your equipment? Skimmer etc? Honestly I would go bigger, as big as you can fit under your stand or wherever you are planning on putting it.

Heya again screwtape! Aye, I wasn't really looking at that particular size, but wanted to ask you guys if that's what I need for a sump/fuge. I'll need to measure the width inside my stand to make sure I get the right size, but if ya'll say that's the correct piece of equipment to start a sump/fuge then it looks like a great way to get it started!

So with that thing, I'll need a pump to get the water out of the tank and into the fuge, another pump to get it back into the tank and a light for it...hmm, wonder how I'll rig the outflow out of the tank (prescreen). Will this setup work without drilling a hole in the bottom of my tank? As far as skimmer, was going to keep using HOB.

If this is for a 110 gallon like screwtape suggested, not even worth it IMHO. Well to small.

Yes, that's the basic sump design. You'll only want one pump to go from the sump to the display, going from the display to the sump should be a gravity drain if you drill the tank (safest method) or using a siphon overflow box that you would have to buy, Eshopps or LifeReef are some common siphon overflows.

Here's some more information about sumps, it should help you understand how the system works with a sump.

Screwtape, Thank you! That link's awesome...at work so can't read it thoroughly yet, but it looks like it'll be a huge help. I dont know how to give karma, but if i did i'd give ya some! Also, I discovered CPR CS90 overflow on marinedepot. I look forward to compare the two other brands/places you suggested as I'd not heard/seen those yet.

    Thank you mucho!

I've heard some bad things about the CPR's but always worth seeing what the options are.

I say you build your own out off a used fish tank that way save on cost and can make it big as you want long as it fits under tank and you can design it your way look at other peoples design and deside on your and go for it a used 30g tank on craigslist cost about 10-30 plexi glas another 20-40 and about 15 for caulk you save lots of money
