I just read somthing about stagnabt water? which is why I ask. my RO water has been sitting for 3 days. Only circulation was occasional stirring for the salt mix. eventually I will pick up an extra powerhead but I'm I ok for this one water change?

I asked this question when I first started and it was the general consensus that it would be fine. I routinely keep RO/DI water for 1-2 weeks before I mix with salt and so far no issues. I would avoid keeping it in the sun (if you use clear containers). When you mix the water I usually run a RIO 2100 for 24 hours.

I keep RO/DI for months in sealed jugs. I only keep mixed saltwater around a few days as I find it does start to stagnate and precipitate out. I do keep a powerhead in mixed saltwater so its moving and oxygenating.

I've got a maxijet 600 mixing my main RO storage container that holds some 20 gallons or so and then another maxi-mini 404 pushing around water in my top off container around 6.5 gallons.

My top off container is a modified clear wrapping paper holder for it's low profile with a float valve. I guess because it was clear and would get ambient light, after about a week I would test the water and notice a very significant rise in TDS like 80+. Since the mini-jet to stir water it's been 0.
