In one media bag running passively in a hob filter? A reactor is not in the works at the moment, but any ill effects or chemical reactions to mixing both in the same bag?

the only negative in that scenario is exhuastion rates
if you have both the same same bag, you have to renew both media at same time
generally I have found once my tank nutrients in terms of PO4 are lower than typical hobby test kits can read, I get up to 6 weeks with my GFO, but still like to change my carbon on a monthly basis

Thanks Steve,i was wondering about that.I temporarily have 2 hob filters each running one (gfo/carbon).I just got some Seachem spherical shaped carbon and was thinking, since i'm running this passively,it would give me better water flow through the media with less packing.I would do this in one filter and just carbon in the other so it can be changed more frequently. This is just till i get my sump/fuge built, but i'm pretty lazy.so that may take a minute.
