LOL well you guys can take this for what its worth but if your Green stars are closing up for days ? then you have a problem and something is irritating them . For anyone to say my corals close up for a few days is like saying the dog won't eat for a few days .. But its O.K LOL Nope there is something on them irritating them or somthing is wrong I have never seen mine closed and if mine where not opened I'd look for a cause , But Mine are on a vertical wall :) I bet the next time any of y'all see them closed and just the purple mat if you clean them off they will pop right open. Or change the water flows to keep stuff flushed off of them. These animals eat constantly all the time and when closed they are not eating metabolizing anything..

All the time and sometimes for a day or 2, I figure it is just resting up because usually when it opens again its really colorful and bushy

As does mine , and every time it seems to go thru a "no opening" it seems to go thru a gowth spert on the rock where seemingly large portions of it on the edges are whiteish purple then the color deepens and then boom' opens and theres more there than before.

If mine closes for more than one day I blast it with some extra water flow to clean them off and then they open right back up. More than one day, that's about my limit before I start to worry!
