    I think I happen to have some of that pink foam at my office. I will grab some on Wednesday and add it below the pump and on the sides. See if that makes a difference.
    I assume that foam is fish safe..??

    Problem solved...!!! I removed the pump from it's stand on the suction cups and placed in on a folder piece of foam. The bottom and sides are now padded and it's 90% quieter. Still a slight hum, but nothing like the racket I had before...
