    I have one of these and I really dont like it too much. It never stays adjusted correctly. I think it would work ok if you can keep the water level in the sump at the same level all the time like with an auto top off setup which I dont have. It will make pretty good skimmate if the water level stays constant. Your diagram might work but you will have to keep the outlet on the skimmer higher than the s bend in the plumbing so gravity will still be able to do its work. You get what you pay for in this hobby im afraid.
