Odd-shaped tank... advice? Especially about glass...

    as about the thickness, take the maximum height of the tank as a base for your calculations

    I built a wood frame tank many years ago and find one aspect of your build perhaps un-needed. Why have groves for the glass? I used fiberglass to seal the wood, your glass walls would be much better. I sunk the glass in silicone seal about 1/4 in thick up against the protected wood and no notch. The pressure from the water will keep the glass in place, thus thicker corners and no notch to weaken the wood. I vote for 5/8 glass :)

    No worries. And don't let the date bother you so much. I was just making you aware that the person may not respond. If you have good info about a thread it is always a good idea to add it as alot of people use some of these old threads for research.;)
