I'm looking at getting the BH 100 for my 16 gallon nano, so I can keep some lps and sps. I have read they are great. I did come across a few forums where a few people had problems with them overflowing with white foam?! Hmm did they put it together worng. Can someone enlighten me?

Until skimmers get slimed up all nice & good, they can go a little wacko. Adjust it to pull dry foam and slowly dial it in to the desired setting. What this means is you want the water level set a little low so you're not getting much foam in the cup, and slowly adjust the water level up as you feel necessary.

go with the remora, it's simple as heck to set up and break in. If you want ease, go with the remora

IMO the octopus would be a better choice. Even easier to set up and adjust (there is only a single adjustment - the cup).
I have an octopus and have never heard of them overflowing. Something had to be done terribly wrong to cause that - either with the cup or a poor attempt at a mod. Also, at least with mine (BH-100F), there is no break-in period. It works the same whether it's shiny clean and brand new or filthy and has been going a long time since being set-up/cleaned.

i have read the Remora's are easy and available everywhere, but I read the Octo gets better skimmate.. and they're reliable... hmm. 60$ difference in price too... I figured the dude did something wrong.. the BH 100f is too wide for my tank.. def won't fit, but the bh100 would work.

You get get same comments from several skimmers. People try setting the water level before the skimmer has had a chance to break in, then as soon as it starts to get a head on it it's skimming supper wet and fills the cup in like an hour.

Well, you cannot lose with the AquaC Remora or the Octopus BH-100F IMO. Both are quality skimmers that have their own pros and cons.
