    So, what do you guys use when you change cartridges?

    I don't have pure food grade silicone as suggested. Saliva would be better than nothing.

    I have heard of using dish detergent, but I don't like that idea.

    No issue other than that I have my filters, but no pure silicone lube in my house:)

    A very very thin coat of vaseline or cooking oil works, just dab your finger and coat it lightly. It doesn't take much. I prefer the silicone grease, I keep it around for lubricating my homebrew kegs and its pretty easy to find, many hardwares even carry it.
