Sweet! thats good they reached out to make things right. Is it common for wrasses to pair up? Same genus of course. I would love a pair of bright colored Cirrhilabrus, any kind.

    Thanks everyone. :)

They don't "pair" like you might be thinking. Think Anthias, not clowns. It's a dominant/submissive hierarchy, in that the male is dominant. M/F of the same species will do this, but not simply of the same genus. Take a look at the thread in my signature. :)

Time for an update. Pictureless, I'm afraid. Explanation in a moment.

Received the new female on Saturday, around 11AM. She was in much better shape than the last, but still didn't look quite perfect. Almost 2" this one, and a gorgeous orange-to-pink fade. I started my drip acclimation and she seemed rather stunned. About 30 minutes in, I looked in the bucket, and she was motionless on her side. Uh oh... I gently picked her up, and about 5 seconds after being out of the water, she came to life. Put her back in the bucket, and she started swimming. Weirdest thing I've ever seen a fish do. Looked completely dead. I have no idea what kind of catatonic state she was in, but surely was in one.

Added her to the acclimation box after dripping, and she now acted like a normal, healthy fish. Alright...

She didn't take interest in food for the first two feedings of the day, but at the end of the day, she ate a couple mysis. Lights out at 10PM. I take my red flashlight at 10:30 and peer into the box, to make sure she's settle down for the night. She's not in the box. Wait, what? Somehow the lid of the box slid open about 3/4", presumably for air bubble build up. I've had it do this before, but only for the first hour or so after placing the box in the tank. So upon lights out, she jumped her way out of that narrow gap and into the tank. :/ A little sooner than I really wanted to introduce her. I was going to take some pics of her on Sunday in the box; that didn't happen.

Saw her very briefly on Sunday, but she was out quite a bit yesterday, starting to feed a little. The female Timor was picking on her a tiny bit, but nothing that concerns me. The male lunatus definitely recognizes her, and things are shaping up to be quite the show. I'm sure she'll be more out and about today. It'll be a week or so before she fully settles in. I'll try for pics at that time. :)

Very dramatic Hunter. I was riveted the whole post. Im glad you wrasse experience is better than the last one.

I had a pygmy wrasse the when stress would stop swimming slime up and float to the bottom. I was sure he was dead a few times until I realized this may be why they call them possum wrasse.

Alright! yeah, you had me goin for a minute too.Congrats.

When i started my drip on my leopard, she curled up like a carpet chip, and i swore she was dead,I freaked and gently scooped her out, seen she was still breathing and just let her go in the tank.As soon as she hit that water, she straightened out, started swimming and has been a showboat piglet ever since.
