I pretty much thought to myself "Well, so much for that"... I wasn't particularly scared, just really disappointed. Then caught rather off-guard.

That's interesting. And makes sense. I don't have any direct experience with them.

Oh but that's the thing. Her gills were not moving, at least any amount my eye could detect. Strangest thing I've even seen in fish land.

Must be the heat. I can't say I'd ever considered putting those two together either. ;D

rare wrasses...

Hey Evolved.. I am a wrasse taxonomist, describing a new genus of wrasses right now.. anyway, i saw you are a wrasse-guy and have some rare species there.. i am sequencing the DNA of the world's wrasses right now and you may have some species that have never been sequenced. I was hoping you could help by providing some DNA from them.. it can be done from living fish- if one is gung-ho enough, from a tiny fin clip, or if they produce eggs, but worst case we can try from feces. if you would like to contribute e-mail me, [email protected], as a reward I can show you a wrasse no-one has ever seen before...
