My jbj 28g nano came in today, along with a bunch of other supplies and equipment without a scratch which i'm very happy about,i'm happy with the tank and everything. One item i ordered was an aquaticlife 115 needle wheel nano skimmer,i read a bunch of reveiws, also read several threads of others having this skimmer in the same tank i got,but let me tell you,i see no way what so ever that this skimmer can fit in this tank,i would have to do so much dremel work on both the tank and skimmer that i decided not to cut on my brand new tank, plus the only chamber it could possibly fit in is the middle one, which holds the filter media basket and i don't want to do away with that. There is a designated skimmer compartment, but it's half the size of this skimmer, also if i put it in the middle chamber,i'm pretty sure it'll block off more than half of the overflow inlet.UUUhhhggg!

JBJ probably have a skimmer available for the designated compartment.

they do,but it's an airstone powered skimmer and the reveiws arn't that great, but most say it does work considering the size tanks there in.So i might just have to make another order, but the good thing is i won't need it till the end of my cycle, and i just filled it with water tonight,so it be a while.lol..

The irony being your username is grinder :p

I have no experience with these tanks so can't offer much help, but I've always wanted one. Sounds like a cool tank for a diy enthusiast, though. I say grind away, make it work since you already have the parts.

LOL!! I slept on it(very uncomfortable under my pillow) and decided i'll just order the jbj one, there are other ones as well, but they really jump in price and most of them require mods also.So i'm gonna stay stock since all i'll be keeping are softies(zoas, leathers, etc).

So now Grinder not mad,Grinder no smash!!

Hehe-i picked up the grinder nickname in my early 20's,but trust me i'm no hulk,i'm more of a short,balding,40 something Al Bundy with a beer belly!
