Hello everyone. I have searched the forums about my question and haven't been able to get a clear answer. I am up grading from a 55 to a 75 and my question deals with the sand. I have to tear down the 55 completly because the 75 is going in its place. I have read that some say to take a plate and slide it under the sand so not to disturb it and then slide it into the new tank platefull by platefull. I have also read to wash it and put it in. If I wash it, wouldnt that remove all the worms etc that reside in the sand? If re-using sand is a big gamble, couldn't I just buy new sand and seed it or will this cause a full blown cycle? I reaqlly dont like my CC any way and getting the sand I want wouldn't be a bad thing. Either way, I need to do what is best to avoid a full blown cycle because my fish and corals have to go directly into to the new tank from their temorary buckets.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I read that article but it doesn't specifically answer the sand washing versus new seeded sand as it relates to a cycle.
