    dependant on the size of it and species , somethin as small as a 10 gal is a good starting point for them.

    Well, if it were causing problems in my tank it wouldn't be totally cool at all.

    you wouldnt believe it! i was just looking at one of my snails when i saw a crab about 2-2 and half inches attacking it!!
    i have dealt with him before seeing it round the tank. i could never catch it but now it looks like i need to
    the crab looks like its got hair coming from all over its body cant get a picture cause it hides as soon as it see me GRR

    Do a search for Gorilla Crab and see if that matches. They are nasty little buggers.

    o man i hope its a mantis not a gorilla crab at least the mantis is cool to keep by itself :/ if you do find a mantis ill take it :) ... actually even if its a gorilla id take it .. my octopus hasent tried one yet

    oh dear.... it seems to look like its a Gorilla Crab.... any recommendations on how to get rid of this little bugger?

    take a clear glass cup and put it on your sand bed leaning against your rocks. Drop a piece of meat in there and wait. He will crawl in there to eat the meat and not be able to climb out.

    Another option (if the glass trick fails) would be to get a piece of base rock and put a piece of meat, (krill mysis or whatever you have) in it. Place the rock in the tank near where the crab hides. The idea is that the tasty treat will be too much for the crab to resist and he will go into the rock for the food at stay in the rock as shelter. Then the rock can be removed and you can do whatever you want with it.

    The fastest and most affective method in my experience though is to remove the rock he is in and poke him out with a pen if you can.
