noodle looking things on my rock

    one day there was none the next their there.
    their as round as the replacement lead for these mechanicial pencils
    tanish/white in color,alittle shorter then a 8th of a inch long.

    Im not to sure what they are based on the description, can you get a photo up, macro mode (could be fan worm/ tube worm casings )

    you havent had any replacement leads for mechanical pencils laying about though have you? LOL

    i believe your talking about suspension feeding tube worms. they are usually clear, the thickness of a hair and are usually seen on LR or substrate building tubes out of your substrtate material. they slowly grab particles of substrate and build a tube to house themselves in.

    See if they look like these. I have them in the sump and built in over flow. I guess a tube type worm. They are very hard and need to scraped off with a razor blade.

    I'm pretty sure I have the same thing in my tank and sump based on your description and I really still haven't been able to 100% id these things. If they are the same they will get longer and they will stretch out and pull themselves back in when they are trying to catch food, at least that's what the ones I have do. The pic at the end of this post is the closest pic I've been able to find of what I have.

    no thats not what it is. i dont know what it is. i put up some pictures. they dont move or do anything, i do see that some of the frist one are getting shorter and gonig round but are mot moving or anything..

    The first picture definitely looks like snail poop. When I had a mexican turbo I had these all over my tank.
