Noisy tank due to pump and plumbing

    Right now I currently have a piece of 2" closed cell neoprene under my pump to minimize the vibration on the floor but maybe something softer would make it a little more of a shock absorber. Thank you.

    I would personally compare this to the sound of my central air kicking on during the day. Sure it's louder than when it was off, but it doesn't cause me any stress.

    I never thought of it like that. Sure puts things into perspective. Thank you for the great comparison.

    I am at the point where I am ok with the sound I am just wondering if others out there have noticed this with their own tank.

    Look into Sorbothane...it's REALLY great stuff. You can get it in sheet-type pieces, but the hemipheres are the most efficient. I use them like "feet" under the pumps. Made all the difference in the world on our 100 gal setup, as the vibration was even bugging the fish.
