What is nitro bac? An "starter" culture of denitrifying bacteria?

I personally let the tank cycle without any additives. I laid the sand, rock and water and the bacteria on the rock kicked off the cycle. You can achieve the same with a piece of raw shrimp.

My thought is unless it's actually refrigerated live culture it isn't doing much.

+1. that is my thoughts also... you arent going to get anything special from that culture. its more of a money maker for companies.
