Thanks seano, but my plumbing is weak compared to the maze you have going on with yours lol. I used vinyl tubbing for a lot of it...

Yes I did, looks good. The water change idea is great. I tried to adhere to the "kiss" rule lol.

    Params since cycle started:

    Nitrate- 0ppm
    Ammonia- 0ppm

    10-30-10
    Ph- 8.4
    Nitrite- 0ppm
    Nitrate- 0ppm
    Ammonia- .5ppm

    11-2-10
    Ph- 8.4
    Nitrite- 0ppm
    Nitrate- 0ppm
    Ammonia- .5

    11-8-10
    Ph- 8.0
    Nitrite- 0ppm
    Nitrate- 0ppm
    Ammonia- 0ppm

Ok now my question, is this normal? Was that my "soft" cycle? I have my flow (powerheads and overflow) going as if it was already cycled. I've been topping off probably .5 a gallon a day. Is this prolonging my cycle? I used a dead shrimp to start the cycle, its completely dissolved. Any suggestions?
