Ok i got the red sea max 130d, and as you all know it has problems with micro bubbles coming through into the tank.

I have tried putting fine filter wool in instead of the standard sponge, i have tried reducing the skimmer, i have tried adding sponge between the skimmer and the return pumps, and i have tried raising and lowering the water volume, NOTHING WORKS!!
I understand that micro bubbles are common, but this really is getting me down, the tank is a constant mist of bubbles and they all collect on the rocks and look awful!
I had friends round to see the tank the other night, and rather than comment on how good the tank looked or be amazed at the inhabitants, all they said was "why is it full of bubbles?"

Its becoming a real issue for me, i paid over £800 for the tank and im really regreting buying it!!

If anyone out there knows anyway to help rid the tank of bubbles i would be greatful to hear from you!!

my quick guess is there's a leak in your return pump line some where ONLY letting air in and not water out... KInda like a hole in a drinking straw... I am not sure how your return line/pipe is set up i would trouble shoot from return pump all the way to the very end where the water comes out to your DT... hopefully you will find the problem...

I am with you on your frustrations on Micro bubble's I CANT STAND THEM...!!! They are like GLue stick's every where and just unsightly..!!

    Hope this helps...

    Good LUck..!!

The bubbles are from the protini skimmer. You have to open valve attached to protein skiimer all the way. After about an hour they should go away.

    bubbles

the only time I ever get bubbles in my red sea tank is when the white filter on the top of the black sponge is dirty. I clean it and the bubbles stop right away.

Have you checked the level of the water in the pumps compartment in the back? If it is low you are sucking air in that way.

    I hope this helps
