Hello, I have my neighbor to thank for sucking me into this project ;D . I have wanted a saltwater tank for many years, but knew I couldn't afford it. I thought I would have to be satisified with my 150 cichlid tank, which is the love of my life. But Thanks to Robman I now have a 47 gallon salt that has just started up. He did all the work and put everything together for me, not to mention he built my sump.

I have no idea what I am doing yet, so I know I have alot to learn. I look forward to all the help I can get.

You have a lot of time to research during the cycling process. Be patient and don't be scared of a little brown algae bloom :D

    Welcome 3reef!

Here's what you do. You get rid of the cichlids, make the 125 your DT and the 47 your sump. You'll be much happier! I mean, it WILL happen someday regardless, might as well do it now :)

I am not ready to do that yet, but who knows. I think I would rather get a larger tank once I get the hang of this, you know, I have to out do robman. He started this mess.

I too am new to this, about 2 1/3 mo into this and I love it. It can been frustrating at times, and unfortunately you will lose somethings and some money but it is worth it! A word of advice, research everything you want to put in your tank before you buy it to make sure it is all compatible.

oh trust me, the neighbor won't let me do a thing until I research it. I made up a want list, and he politely told me I can't have some of the things on it because I am not experienced enough. I politely told him this was a wish list, not a buy list..... lol
