    Hello reefers!
I've been into the freshwater scene for a few years. Decided to try my hand in saltwater for the first time. Having a hard time deciding if this puppy has cycled yet or not. I have no signs of ammonia in my water.

    Welcome to 3reef. :)

Is that a CPR fuge on the back?

How long has the tank been running and what did you use to initiate the cycle, any live rock?

I see a hermit in the 1st image so you must be cycled or close.

Love 40 gallon breeder, they offer a lot of room for scapes.

    Thank you!
    It sure is.
The tank has been running for 13 days. i have 45 lbs of live rock with about 60 lbs of live sand. Also added some biobacteria liquid when i started.

And i agree, so far i have been very pleased with this tank. Definitely plan on upgrading to a 90 at some point and use the 40 as a sump.

Try feeding the tank for a few days, dry fish food or even frozen, check for another ammonia spike roughly 48-72 hours after the addition of food, no ammonia or nitrites your probably ok to start to stock slowly.

You're very welcome. I think you will absolutely fall in love with saltwater. If you've not done some research on quarantine tanks and the process you should look into it. Buying healthy and appropriate live stock makes the hobby much more enjoyable and a lot less expensive.

Appreciate the comment. Took forever to find the right shelf rock. Luckily there are plenty of stores in orlando.
