    If water isn't pushed through filtering media, like activated carbon, phosban etc, it will just flow around the graules and won't be very effective in pulling out the dissolved organics in the water. That is why reactors are usually upflow, it forces water through the media not just around it.

    After seeing some diffrent plumbing and reading some builds i have modified my system for some better flow control by adding a quarterturn valve to each pump outlet.

    any suggestions on a background, i bought some mirror background but it's crappy film so i'm not going to use (dang mail order crap).
