    Hello,

I just started a FOWLR aquarium and got my first fish yesterday. It is a Black Percula Clownfish.

Question, how long should I wait before adding more fish? & do you have any fish recommendations?

    Thank you!

how long has the tank been set up? are you cycling it with the clown? i wouldnt add any fish until the cycle is over. and add some hardy fish first then later on add some more demanding ones

I would wait a week between fish to let your bio catch up. Some say 2 weeks.

EDIT: And yes this is if it is fully cycled already.

this is a good rule of thumb, lots of people cycle their tank then just load the fish in. its good to only add like 1-2 fish a week.

I set the tank up last weekend (5/7). I took a water sample to my local store on 5/14 had it tested. They said it was within required norms for water specs. I then bought the clownfish.

I have read on cycling..but don't have a good understanding of it yet. It is when I changed out 10-15% of my water every 2-4 weeks?

Two things, my tank is 125 gallon & I have approximately 150lbs of live rock in it.

Thanks for helping out a newbie!

i would leave ev erything as is, dont add anything until the cycle is up. i would buy my own test kit your pet store obviously doesnt know what they are talking about. wait a month or so then test your water. if ammonia nitrate and nitrite all test at 0 then you can add fish.

I did buy a test kit & plan on testing once a week.

How do I know when the cycle is up?

Thanks. I will testing my tank every weekend. I will probably not add any more fish for 3-4 weeks.
