Well I am Back..... Been gone for about 2.5 years. No one missed me its okay.

I just purchased a nuvo 16g off a guy on craigslist for $240. he gave me a stand and stocked with a maroone clown, damsel ( gave to a friend) , and some corals. I haven't been around lately in the saltwater world so I am pretty clueless on led lights and types of corals I can grow with them, and its just stock filtration so any ideas for modifications so I can have a healthy reef. I took out a lot of the live rock; its in a bucket sitting. it was packed full I didnt want that much.

Any ideas , hints , tips, concerns, .

tank is still cloudy from them move . will post pics tomorrow

I have so many members on my site telling me about how they love their Nuvo systems !! Did you get the white or black??

I am like you, it seems like LEDs flew right by me somehow, but I can tell you there seems to be endless possibility for coral growth under LEDs.

I CAN TELL YOU that Innovative Marine gives you two 8 watt Skkye LEDs for that tank, and I use one 8 watt Skkye LED on my 5g pico with great results. You could get two of them online for under 200 dollars, and the best part is they have white/blue control so you can setup a lighting cycle

The tank came with two 8w skkye LED light clamps . each are 6 x 1watt 14000k white and 4 x .05watt blue.

    I got the black one.

    thats great !!

You can keep all sorts of zoas, mushrooms, xenia, leathers, and trees under those two lights :). I am going to start trying some harder coral in under my skkye LED soon... let me send you a link here.

Thanks, looks great. I have always been told not to lean live rock against any wall of the tank/ glass. Is it okay to have live rock leaning against the back wall of a nuvo?

I know that he gets away with it just nicely...but I would not if it were me.

I would go for a more open scape. I cant wait to see what you can do with this tank !!!
