Hi guys/girls,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everyone on this site. I have heard amazing things about everyone on here and how great the site it. I used to have a 45 gallon bow front freshwater tank for about 5 years, recently i moved and decided to finally upgrade it to a salt water reef. I knew absolutely nothing about salt water reefs only freshwater and a good friend of mine who is on this site and introduced me to this site "TankBoyME" has taught me a ton and has helped me build this up from scratch. I'm on this site every day now learning and absorbing knowledge from you guys. I thought its finally time to show off what ive created. I just got done with about 5 weeks of cycling and added my first livestalk to the tank as well. Im very new to this but so far im loving it, and i want to learn as much as possible.

Specs are:
45 gallon bow front
2 korelia 2 power heads
Reef Octopus Hang on Back Protein Skimmer BH-2000
50lb live rock
20 lbs red sea live sand
36" NOVA EXTREME 4X39W T5HO
hang on penguin filter with 2 bio bags
heater (dont know brand etc)

Live stock:
2 x true pecula clown fish
1 x small yellow tang
1 x little mushroom coral
1 x stalk of pulsating xenia
15 x hermit crabs

thats about it so far. I got a pic of it and will get another one tonight of it with the yellow tang and pulsating xenia. Let me know what you guys think. And nice to meet you all of you.

thanks guy, ya tankboyme is a great guy/friend. He has drove about 80 miles twice and spent about 10 hours helping me out and going to fish stores etc with me. I owe him big time. If there ever is a man dedicated to this hobby he definitely is up there in my book. And ya im going to definitely try to get pics tonight of the new stuff i just added. I couldnt last night because i had all the lights etc off to reduce the stress of the tang. I wish i could do a sump etc but i have no room for it with my current setup :(

Awwww shucks :-[

You guys know how excited you get when one of your friends takes to this hobby, and WANTS to learn... not just do everything you tell him to, haha.
Now if I can just get him to stop calling me in the middle of the night when he's worrying about his fish.... just kiddin' ;D

nice pics. i have to express my concern for your mandrinfish. he looks HUNGRY. he is one fish i always wanted but was worried that my tank was not producing enough copepods to support this fish. i since built a refugium to develop pods but im still hesitant knowing that this fish can wipe out the pod population in less than 24 hours. well i wish you luck with him and with your new tank.

Thanks NU, ya ive been trying to get that Mandarine fatter. He is only about 1 week old and was skinny when i got him. I know i need tons of copepods so i have been ordering these DT`s Live Marine Copepod 6oz from Marine depot ive already added 6 jars total to my tank, and i had a decent amount of copepods to begin with before i got him, im hoping this will be a good start, i do notice him eating all day, i just hope he is getting enough.
