    I just got my 55g all up and running, and was just wondering if I should fire up the protein skimmer right away?

    I wouldn't run the skimmer until the cycle is over. Got any pictures of the setup? :)

    +1. You kinda want some of the bad in there at the moment to give the bacteria and stuff food to start the cycle.
