I got this from the LFS yesterday for £9 (about $15, I believe ). Really nice and appears to have taken to my tank quite well. I dripped it for about 3 and a half hours, and then transferred it into my tank without exposing it to the air. I think it's a fromia elegans - I'm hoping that's right?

It's been roaming around, feeding off the live rock, I assume. What else should I do to feed it (and how)? Seemed to want to grab a bit of the mysis I was putting in earlier. Other than that, you got any other tips on keeping it in good health?

Any comments welcome too! Thanks for reading.

    Always good advice! ;D

Params have been really stable recently. I went to the LFS originally to pick up a copperband - they've had it for a while for me so that it eats before I buy it, but I noticed it had some ich. They're currently treating, so we'll see what happens next week ::)

Nice, but why didn't you let it get it exposed to the air? do they die like sponges?

Starfish do not tolerate changes in oxygen.

Yeah, that's what I read when I researched proper acclimation. Initially, it did move itself to the surface, with one leg sticking out, but seems to have returned back down now.

I'd also read that the darker the tips of the legs, the better condition it was in, think that there is any truth to that?

Thanks for info, I think that might be why my cousin doesn't have a good experience with starfish.

Cheers guys. Not been particularly active today, staying mostly in the same area. Hopefully it's happy enough, though.
