    how much water are you supposed to put through a new ro membrane before using the water?

    well for mine i did 2 gallons to flush it out

    A few gallons, but you should also be putting a new prefilter and carbon if you're replacing the membrane, and sanitizing the system.

    3 to 5 gallons should be wasted before using to flush any antimicrobial treatments away. A TDS meter will tell you when you have reached your lowest level which means it is flushed.
