I am getting kind of tired of looking at all the stuff hanging off my pico tank. So I am thinking I can drill for an overflow and gravity feed to a 2.5 gallon sump that will hold a skimmer and the return pump as well as ATO and heater.

I don't really like having a hang on filter just because of the ease of it jamming and limits what I can run in it. I don't really like using siphon overflows either, and I'm sure you guys know why.

Plans, 2x2.5 gallon tanks, drill for a 1 inch bulkhead for the overflow and return in the display 2.5, add 3 baffles to the sump 2.5, and run a rio 1100+ as a return with a ball valve for flow control and my Aquatic Mini skimmer. And put this all into a cheap night stand.

I am looking for some advice or changes in plans. I want to run the skimmer because I feed the corals every few days and what comes in must come out as well as left overs floating around.
