Mines a little different than everyone elses, haha. I have a YWG with a Japanese pistol shrimp, and they were paired up at the place I bought them from (they told me it took them forever) and I have had them in my tank for MONTHS and they have not paired up. I rearranged the rock and they moved even further away from each other!

So I went to the LFS to pick up the tiger pistol shrimp they ordered for me and it was tiny. Around an inch. I added itto my tank yesterday but haven't seen it sense. I will keep looking for the symbiotic bond between the shrimp and goby to form. I only hope the shrimp isn't too small. I wasnt able to get a good pic either. Any input on how all is too small of a shrimp to bond withy goby? Thank you.

It has been two days and my YWG and tiger pistol shrimp have paired up and are burrowing together. i added the shrimp the day before yesterday and never saw him again. i woke up to find that they are burrowing together and that my pistol shrimp has dragged many (10 or 15) of my little cerith snails outside of its burrow. (has anyone had a problem with a pistol shrimp killing their snails, btw???)
i added a short video of them in action. it is very fascinating to watch

Yeah we touch down. :drummer:. Congradulations!

Yes they drag everything down the burrow, but I have not had them kill snails.

That's great! I've had my tiger pistol for almost 2 years now - he's been paired up with two gobies (the first one jumped and died, very upsetting). I added a yellow watchmen goby probably a year and a half ago and they paired up immediately. Don't be alarmed the shrimp goes "missing" even for a week. When mine molts, he always disappears for about a week. When he comes back out, the shrimp and goby will dig up the entire tank for a few days (I guess he's especially hungry then)!

I have had my goby for almost a year and my shrimp for like 3 months and they haven't paired yet...i didn't even have any burrows till I got my shrimp and he dug out almost the while back of my tank lol I barely see him ever either. I only had one casualty sure to the shrimp and it was my cleaner shrimp.
