Thanks Cam, always admired them, but their nasty habit of "nuking" tank upon demise detered me from putting one in main tank or nano...which are probably too active/busy for one anyway...

New pico is perfect for one...as long as I knowingly am going to have to swap fish out in time as it gets bigger.

Hopefully will not be for a good while.

Will be kind of fun watching its actual growth rate.

"cute" does not begin to describe this fish...:cheesy:

Thought naming it "Crouton" was very appropriate...no bigger then the size of one...;D

Is the yellow box fish reef safe?
I was always under the impression that boxfish in general were not a good idea. Because if this is the case, im rushing to my LFS to buy one :)

Is generally safe...but needs a mellow tank environment.

Busy, aggressive tankmates may stress it out and it will get ill or go belly up pretty quick.

And upon doing so will release a toxin that will wipe out entire tank. :-[

In appropriate environment, no reason for it to do so.

Use caution on decision to get one...

You can name it Crouton; just don't name that Pajama Cardinal "Caesar!" ;)
