    Hello,
I just joined and looking for advice on a freshwater sand tank. I have a 29H as my primary tank and my figure eight puffer keeps eating my other fish so I have set up a 10g for him alone and I am looking for any useful feeback and primarily any information about all the bubbles in my sand. I have the sand in the tank for a day and a half and it is still clumped up and floating, why?

Welcome to 3reef. It will take a couple of weeks for the air to work it's way out of the sand. You can hurry the process by stirring the sand.

    welcome to 3 reef Mikal

as 2 in 10 states - its normal
in my reef set up I used really fine sand and some of the bubbles where big enough to pick individual grains of sand up and carry them upwards until they met some flow from the power heads and the sand was forced off the bubble and dropped back down

it rained sand in my reef tank for a couple of days

    Hi and welcome.
I have a green spotted puffer and so far he has been nice to his tank mates...may be that he was the last one added and is not the biggest fish in the tank.
Good luck with your Fig8's new home.
