well, first post, thanks to any replys. i have a 55gal w/ a 12 gal refuge. currently a 6bulb t5 set up with 144 watts, getting ready to swap to a 75 gal with same refuge but a much more powerful light with a 2 250w mh w/ 4 54w actinic t5 for a total of 716 watts.

i have about 50 different frags and corals, 8 different fish, about 50lbs of rock.

what am i in for? how can i make the transition smooth? too much?

Welcome to 3Reef!!! The most important thing you're going to need to remember is that you are going to need to light acclimate those corals to the new lighting. The move isn't going to shock them however the substantial increase in lighting sure will. Maybe only light them for a couple of hours for the first couple of days and then gradually work your way up until you are back at a normal photo period.

Because we have 2 threads going on at the same time on a similar issue, I would recommend following this one too. http://www.3reef.com/forums/general-reef-topics/advice-needed-107829.html
