As the title says. Just finished buying a new home and will be moving in the next couple months. Luckily (gotta admit it was a selling point for me), the owner of the house has a 150gallon aquarium built into his bar. Currently its a FW Cicchlid tank, but I definitely will be making the conversion into a SW tank if all goes as planned. I will be posting a build thread later on to show you how the conversion goes and the progress made on it. But for now, a few questions. The tank is currently on a lower level (beneath the bar). There would be no way to fit a sump underneath this tank. So is there anyway I can put a sump adjacent to it? Or something of that sort? I will post pics later on to show you what the situation is like, but any ideas for now would be awesome!

Congrats on your new home, always a challenge and always something to do to it. As for your sump Q, anything is possible. You can have a sump above your DT, it doesnt matter. Gravity is always better, eliminates the need of another pump, but not neccessary. Great idea to start a build thread, shows your progress. I wish I would have done one. Luna

Let's say I wanted to install a pump to bring water from the DT to the sump. Where would the pump fit in? Would it be an inline pump going from the tubing coming out of the overflow?

+2 on what luna said, you could maybe hide the pump behind some rocks and have the return spread out to get like a rain effect?

Alright guys, new problems, new questions!

Found out, its only a 130g aquarium. 72x24x18. That's not the problem. The problem is that I only have 3 inches of space to play with between the top of the tank and the lid of the bar (slate cover). So essentially, I need to find a lighting system that is only 3 inches or less in height. I was looking at the Sunlight Supply Tek Light High Output Fluorescent Lighting Fixture from marine depot. Apparently only 2.5" in height, which would be perfect (i hope). They dont seem to have a 72 inch setup in length, but I was looking at buying 2 36" lights (opinions?). Here is the link. 36 inch 6x39W Sunlight Supply Tek Light High Output Fluorescent Lighting Fixture (36in Units )

So, having 2 of those as the lighting systems, it would give me 468w total for the 130g system, for a total of 3.6w per gallon. It is however 24 inches deep (will be putting a 3 inch sand bed though.. possibly 4 due to a LTA I have and burrowing issues). Does this sound like a reasonable setup? I'm limited with options, and I suppose MH wont be an option with the height restrictions I am faced with.

Any help or suggestions, always appreciated!
