In the near future when I upgrade I would like that half circle oceanic tank but the 144 gallon is 39 inches in height. I am not sure if my arm can even reach to the bottom of the tank. Does anyone hear have this in the 76 gallon version. That is 33 inches high. I have a 46 bow now and am not sure if that is a big enough upgrade if I do upgrade? Give me some opinions.
    Thanks,
    Adam

I wouldn't worry about reaching to the bottom. There are grabbers of all sorts to get to the bottom of it. I would upgrade to what you really want, not just to a tank that you can reach the bottom of.

I looked into getting one of these instead of my 90, I changed my mind when I looked at the cost difference between the semi-circle tanks and normal ones, even the stands are way higher priced

Is the half circle starphire glass. I saw the 90 gallon rectangle starphire euro braced which is a nice tank. I will have to have a sump with either of these tanks

you also would have to worry about the lighting issues with a half circle tank. It would be difficult to cover all the tank with light

I had a 55g tall tank at one tiime and I HATED IT! It is more difficult to do cleaning and maintance on. Doesnt sound like a big deal to bring out a step ladder to clean...but do that daily or every couple days and it gets old real quick.

I have a 120 48/24/24 with my hood on (impossible to take off) I cant reach the bottom anywhere except the front 10 inches. And I am sure my tank doesn't like my deodorant getting in the tank...I would never go higher than 24, unless it was a pool in which I would just snorkel.

The lighting issue would personally steer me away from a circular tank. However, you will regret not getting the tank you want more than getting it and having to find away around not being able to reach the bottom.

I can't reach the bottom anywhere on my 150 with the canopy on it. It's not really a problem anymore. You just gotta find the right grabbers

I agree that 24" or so is about all you want to have to deal with but the other important fact is the lighting not able to reach bottom. Are you going to trust a grabber with a live piece of soft coral? Those tanks are for fish only in realistic terms. I thought about a 110g but changed my mind because of that. Emergencies come up in a tank. I purchased a canopy that opens back 6" just for that reason alone. Good thread!
