    Wow if you look at the thread I posted on page three of general diss. titled weird new growth that is the same rock compare those pics to these and you can tell how much this stuff has grown now I'm starting to see little buds of this on othre rocks also god what is it? the stuff on the rock from the pic above is even bigger and has almost covered the rock now it looks great like living rock literally but I have never seen this stuff elsewhere ?

    Sounds like some kind of coraline algae

    Naw this is no coraline algae! I dont know what it is? It must be some kind of coral. I don't know. it never moves at all so maybe it is an algea but not the normal purple stuff that grows all over.

    Hey I don't know for sure but I think it might be this it's a form of red algae

    I also have clumps of this algae here and there in my tank
    Halymenia pseudofloresia

    with the star ic could be a Asterina starfish, here is a pic the Reeflady took on another board

    as a tip, with trying to get those close pics w/o the $1000 cam, try using a magnifing glass infront of the cam, does help;)

    here is a pic of the hitchhiker star. I saw him today in a good spot for a pic. I still haven't aquired a magnifing glass but hope to soon. I think that the star may be the one mentioned above by t devil. a Asterina starfish, It appears as though it will have seven legs when whole. I see him, then I don't for a while. Then he will show up again. He looks a little bigger, so i assume he's doing o.k. I 'll have to find out if this little guy is ok to be in my tank. Is it reef safe?
