I bought that skimmer for my brother in law and worked very nice for a while, then something happened with it and stopped making bubbles. I adjusted it several times and nothing. Ended up adding an air pump he had laying around and made it work wonderfully. now it is clogged again. I'm thinking of taking his pump and running it through muriatic acid to give it a good clean. This skimmer pulls a LOT of crap when working properly. So keep good maintenance on it. :)

It will work as long as you clean it every now and then. My brother in law is THE most lazy person I know about his tank. He does nothing but add things to it, when the other things he added earlier die. Very sad.
I first convinced him of buying a skimmer, then I made him do a 50% water change and his nitrates went down from 60 ppm to 20. I don't even know how he's got fish there to live for the short amount of time they live. It's sad.

I'm building him a sump/fuge combo soon and this skimmer will turn into an in-sump skimmer. All of the things that I have achieved on his tank are due to his jealousy on how much nicer my tank looks... so... that's saying a lot LOL

The skimmer is good. I'm only not so happy with the bubble defuser thing, but when I turn it into an in-sump skimmer, and the bubble traps etc, it will all be ok.

Nice nemos, by the way ;)

Wow, you CAN'T be lazy and have sucessful sw aquarium! I'm so picky that I even think I see a water spot on the outside I get it cleaned off, I premake food for the duo so my hubby can feed them since that is the ONLY thing he is allowed to touch. I will make sure to keep regular maintainence on the skimmer. Its working great now and I don't want it to go bad on me.

Thank you about my clowns! They are my pride and joy of my tank. If anything would happen to them I would be distraught. I do want other fish but watching them makes me feel so content :)

Sweet! I really like clowns and the way they behave when they're not mean. Are the true percs less prone to become aggressive? I would like to buy a pair sometime.

Not sure if they are or are not less prone to being mean but I know my duo won't bother Gman. In fact, Gman likes to go pester B and C randomly. Its fun to watch though :) I hope you get a pair of clowns one day. They are fun to watch espeically when they play in the powerhead's current.
