We are pretty lax with the warranty, if your mod causes damage, we will fix it for the cost of materials and shipping, instead of free. The ratio is the same on all of our fixtures, like bhazard said, you should be very happy with it.

Color temp or heat from the fixture itself?

About 90 degrees max, the heat does not project into the tank.

The fixture is cool to the touch, even underneath. You can lay the back of your hand under the bottom of the fixture for however long you want, and you wont get burned.

Don't try that with Metal Halide though :)
