good job on the reading. this is a very good place to do it in my opinion. my 30 just hit 3 and a half months! there are way more options than most people think for a 29! have fun and go at a slow pace!!!

Just finished setting up my 29 gallon biocube. I would recommend the SR3 protein skimmer, it works great and fits perfectly in the 2nd chamber. I hadn't thought of upgrading the pump in the 3rd chamber but that would be a good idea to increase flow in the tank. A Koralia Nano creates pretty good flow but I may be adding a second. Through reading books and these forums I would look at the following: Adding battery backup to your system (I used an APC 1500 that gives just over an hour of run time and has an AVR boost). Chiller, a 1/10 works very well for the biocube with minimal mods required for the inlet/outlet. (2) heaters in case one goes out (I have one in chiller and one in first chamber). Substrate seems to be a lot of different theories (I deceided to go without). 1.5 lbs of live rock per gallon did a nice job of filling the tank with LR. Probably one of the most important is a RO/DI unit so you can have premium water. That's about all I can think of for now, good luck and take it slow!

Thanks for the info Kelley, Were i live we get a ton of snow in the winter so we already invested in a generator for the whole house that can power the whole house up to 4 days and we have extra 4 day supply on propane. And i will look into the CP3:)

    Thanks, Dan

EDIT: about a chiller i dont really think i would need one cause the hottest it gets here in the summer is about 80*F, adn they tank will be in a basement that always stay cool.
