when adding a new fish to your tank, once its done doing the bag acclimation, and dip method for a while, and your about to put it in your tank, do you do it at day or night? i.e. lights on or off?

or does it even matter? if so, why, why not? thank you!

I believe you are supposed to turn the lights off when adding a new fish - to reduce any additional stress from bright light or aggression from other fish.

+1 to above. I always turn out lights when adding new livestock.

I always recommend turning the lights off for fish, especially when your adding fish that may have aggression issues with your current residence. It seems to mellow everyone out a bit. For corals, never done that.
