I was thinking about doing it that way originally. I was just thinking with two maybe I would have a little extra insurance if one ever lost siphon.

My 20 is drilled and I love the way it works. I meant if I don't get the 75 drilled and have to use a hob overflow box.

    Another question
I spoke with a lfs yesterday who said they can order me the new plastic rim for the top and that it's a piece of cake to change out.
So I asked if he could order the bottom trim as well since the old one has a few small cracks anyways.
He said he can order it but since it's not "structually neccassary" and it's such a pain it the a$$ to replace I shouldn't bother messing with it. Does anybody have experience replacing these? And is it true that they aren't really "structually neccessary"?

You could always take it to a glass warehouse. They would be able to tell you if it were tempered

So I'll be headed to Home Depot tomorrow to buy the lumber for the stand and canopy and to the lfs to order the top and bottom trim for the tank.
I have an idea in my head of how I want the stand to look. I want the stand to be relatively tall. Most DIY stands I see are much shorter that I prefer. I don't like the idea of having to lean down to look into the tank.
I'm thinking about making it somewhere around 40" maybe a bit taller, which would make the top of the tank somewhere around 61". Are there any problems with this. Just wondering why I never see any made like this?
    Thanks everybody.

Prob wont be an issue with the hight(as long as its balanced/leveled properly)..the only thing I see is you may have to stand on something when reaching down into the lower half of your tank.If that dosnt bother you I say go for it....but this is just my opinion I have never had any experience with a tall stand..good luck with your build and remember to take lots o pics....
