Hi, well I bought a 12 gallon salt water tank on craiglist. Came with salt water, half bag of salt, 20lb live sand, 15lb fiji live rock,
    5 fish total:
    1. Yellow tang size
    2. Clown fish "Nemo"
    3. 3 Damsel

    Filter, heater,etc etc.

Anyway so i have 5 fish in small 12 gallon tank. I am planning on getting rid of 2 black striped damsel fish because it is very aggresive towards yellow damsel fish, and planning on buying another clown fish. So 4 fish total.

I want to add like 1 or 2 anomonie or something spelt like that.
But do you have any recommandation what I should buy? Anything none aggresive towards the fish that will be left over?

Wow, that is a lot of fish for a 12 Gallon.

That yellow tang will outgrow it almost instantly. Personally, in a 12 Gallon, I would only keep the clown and one other fish. Keep in mind a damsel and clown fish are related and will fight each other for territory over time.

What type of filter do you have?
What type of lighting? This will be very important if you want to keep an anenome.

yea i know its alot of fish, but it came like this..so haha. Anyway about the tang the guy said I can sell tang when it grows larger for good money.
The yellow damsel seems to be really friendly with others, its just those 2 black stripped ones that bully the yellow demsal but not the clown or tang.
For now I will keep 2 clown *which im going to buy 1 more after giving away the 2 black stipped damsel* and 1 yellow damsel and 1 tang untill the tang grows more.
so..4 fish total..still big but i dont know..Do you think I should add more rocks in there to create more hiding space?

This is what i got by the way.

You also may well run into issue with the third clown. What do your parameters look like now? That is a huge bioload for such a small tank, just because it came like that doesn't make it a wise idea. What kind of lighting does the tank have? Anemones require pristine, stable conditions and intense lighting to survive.

i only have 1 clown and planning on buying another clown after i give my 2 black strip demsal away. Im not sure what you mean by 3rd clown.
What do you mean bioload..like live rock?
fluorescent light is the light that came with it.

Whoops, for some reason I read it as you having two clowns. The tang really shouldn't be in a tank that small, they need a lot of swimming room and cramped quarters will stress them out. Bioload refers to the "output" of your livestock. In a tank that small you have a HUGE amount of pollution from the fish impacting a very tiny volume of water.

What kind of fluorescent lighting? Fluorescent covers a huge variety of lighting.

Friendly advice would be lower the number of fish, take it slow and do your research. 3Reef is a great place to learn if you take the time to poke around. Racing in to things blindly causes a lot of new tank failures and needless death of sea creatures.

You said those 2 black stripped ones, so that sounded like you had 2 clowns already. ?????

A bioload (biological load) is the waste production of fish that must be equally matched in beneficial biological bacteria. The more fish you have, the larger the bio load. You need 15-24 lbs of rock for your tank. This will provide enough hiding spaces and provide plenty of surface area for bacteria to grow on to handle the bioload. You will see problems very quickly if you don't get rid of some fish. The 3 damsels alone would be too much for that tank, the tang alone is too much for that tank, and two clowns is pushing it too. A clown and a small goby would just about be perfect for that tank. Or 3 small gobies.

Well is I really dont know what type of lighting it is...is there anyway to find out?
Its just white color light if that helps, probably not haha. Im giving away 2 damsel tomorrow, and I will do something with tang.

The rocks, can I just buy the cheap rocks? Since I already have 15lb fiji rocks in there and live sand?

And I meant 2 black stripped Damsels.

Heres the same tank I have, its on youtube but not my tank. Maybe by looking at this you can tell what light it is...?

is this an eclipse 12 gallon? your lighting is probably just a small PC. not nearly enough for an anemone. you could probably keep a pair of clowns if you do lots of water changes, but no anem. i do agree with the above.. the best time to get rid of the yellow tang is now, before it gets ich, dies, and gives you an amonia spike, thus killing everything else.
