    2. all corals have started to recede/ loose their color/ not open up
    3. six line wrasse has some kind of white film? on its body (hope its not bacterial or something)
    4. very small cyano patches (hopefully we can nip it in the bud)

    Sorry for your troubles. :-/

The 6 line might have just woken up. They make a cocoon to sleep in at night.

what sort of instuctions did you leave them? how long were they looking after is for. i have my tank under my parents care (for a year), left them a detailed list or instuctions and so far so good. here are some pics of my tanks condition since i've been away. the water is getting tested today so i guess that will tell the tale. do you have some pics of the damage?

im going to be honest with you - Its not your parents fault there is a flat worm infestation, i agree with inwall regarding the 6 line and you will have cyano due to excess nutrients, again not your parents fault.

Chine up - now those problems have occured its time to sort them out! the flat worm will be the more difficult one. Good luck!

If they've been overfeeding... it may very well be the parents fault. I suspect my girlfriend over feeds even though I've asked to watch her feed them properly so I know what she's doing. She mentions how they seem to be starving.. My fish are obese.
