I was just at my LFS and was contemplating getting some sun coral polyps. But, I looked at a zoa frag next to it and saw red flatworms all over it and zoa eating nudibranchs. Almost all the coral had flatworms on them. I turned right around and left. Was I wrong in not calling them out on it? Would any of yall have said anything? I am sure they know they have an issue, but still...I am just curious if it was better for me to keep my mouth shut.

You might causally let them know, but I don't think they will be really responsive lol.

I always let them know if they have things that look bad, the guys always seem to to acknowledge the problem and check it out, even if its later. because if I see it some other customers will too, its in there best interest to fix it.

Well, I am doing a wc tomorrow and have to go back to get some water. I may do just that, casually mention it to them. I didn't think they would really do anything about it. They try to sell anything to anyone, no matter your experience. The owner tried to sell me an octopus when I was just first starting out. Oh, and seahorses. She said they were easy to take care of. I knew better, thank goodness.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
No, you were not wrong. What is wrong is the store thinking people will invest hard earned money into a product that has the potential to wreck havoc and distruction in someones tank.

We had a similar store here in AZ, same thing brown flatworms by the thousands in every tank. They went out of business in 1 year and the other LFS were making a huge profit off the business of people trying to repair the damage from the flatworms.

    You go girl.;D

Lol, I don't know how this store is in business. The owner has given me such bad advice. I am so glad I found 3reef and another one which I shall not name.

I have a pretty good LFS, but when I see a gorilla crab in their big reef tank, or a nuti in with some softies, I just let them know about it and they want to take care of it. IMO any LFS with flatworm infestations probably doesn't keep up on RODI maintenance. I would go somewhere more professional or get a TDS meter to see how good their water is!

LOL, yeah did not think of that. I don't usually go there, just cause of the owner being stupid, but I was down there anyway and needed some dry goods. Don't think I will go there for h2o... thanks for suggesting that
