Need opinion on a pair of premium picasso's

We've gotten the tank just about stocked and now we're looking for a jewel pair of clowns. My LFS just broke down a tank and they have a mated pair of ORA premium Picasso clowns with a 6" around rose bud nem. The fish are a year and a half since they were sold to this guy. My guy at the LFS thinks this is what I'm looking for as we've loved clowns. This would give us a total of three pairs with our existing ORA oscellaris pair and our ORA caramel oscellaris that will be added this weekend.

First question is do you guys think they'll go well with existing stock? Here's my thread on the tank with updated pictures

Second, he's priced them at $300 for the two and the nem. Am I getting a decent deal? ORA doesn't put prices. Diver's den had a mated pair for 379 so I feel pretty good about it. What say you?

 

A pic of them would really help. That can be a good deal though. Are they laying eggs? Also, with 3 pairs in one tank, only one pair will lay and you really don't want more then one female per tank as well. What are your plans with these pairs of clowns? Sorry stick the stock is five green chromis, the two oscellaris, a blue tang, a carpenters wrasse, a blue sided wrasse, three gold band wrasse, two pajama cardinals and a bangaii.

 

No eggs yet. And just got the offer tonight will get pictures tomorrow. The two now are not a mated pair and the two caramels will not be either.

 

I just really don't think you should put so many clowns in one tank. I really think that you are asking for trouble in doing so. What size will these clowns be when you get them?

Your asking for trouble. you already have about 14 fish in your tank. Including a Blue tang which will outgrow that soon. Blue tangs need long swimming spaces, suggested is at least 8ft, even for a juvenile.

having two clowns in your tank, and if you add 2 more will lead to aggression problems, especially with your other stockng lists. Wrasses can be mean to new tank mates. Your tank is a little overstocked with that many, So i would hold off.

 

I misspoke on the stock. I meant I have three gold banded chromis. Ended up not getting the caramels but did get the perculas. If I have to give up the oscellaris so be it but these guys were gorgeous. I thin we've completed the tank adds for now. I'll get new pictures tomorrow when everything opens up and try to put a total inventory together. Couple really nice pieces made it in this trip!
