Saw this Red growth under some algae when I scraped it off. Is it Coralline? It's hard and I can't scrape it off. It's on a lot of LR growing in patches. If it is Coralline, do I need to take any special measures to ensure a good healthy growth apart from the regular water parameters?

Seems to be lovely coralline! You could try to reseed it in your tank! First of all turn off your skimmer! Scrape off bits, and put them in strong current! Let the spores/cells settle! Turn on all filtration equipment after 1-2h! Good luck!

Yup, thats my favorite type of coraline. Adds color and depth to the LR.

I'm going to go against popular opinion and say that it may be a type of red turf algae. Does it feel "fuzzy" when you touch it?

Nope - it's feels like it's a part of the LR, I mean there seems to be no difference in texture as such. I did look up pictures of what you just mentioned. This is totally different than this. Will attach a better and clearer picture, so you can confirm again.

Thanks..that's a lot clearer. Now can I go and bask in the fact that I have a good thing growing in my tank???? Or should I still keep my fingers crossed??? :)

I've never seen coralline algae that red before but just because I haven't seen it, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist :D
