for all you woodworkers out there my I have your assistance?. I want to try to build my own cabinet for a 72 gallon bowfront aquarium. If you have ever seen the all glass brand of the stands, you'll notice the top surface is flat. on most rectangular aquariums they have a outer trim on bottom perimeter. My question is how would i go about doing this on a bow. a local woodshop suggested grooves ever so many inches the bending the board but would you see those cutS? what about just matting a few peices together would that look ok? keep in mind I would like to stain and make a matching canopy. thanks in advance

Two other options are to bandsaw the curves if your stock is thick enough, or laminate thin strips over a bending form...

well that stand looks good and I can probably use some of the design but I would like my cabinet to have more ha finished style. I plan to do some fancy edging with a router. On this 90 design I notice the trim piece meets up with the surface piece. I would just want a curved edge about 2 and half inches high about 3/4 wide or so with a bow so I can bevel the top and give it a nice finish. In order to carve it out with a saw I would have to have a massive thick piece of stock. Is there any type of bendable woold I can piece together?

Resaw or purchase 1/4" thickness wood of your choice. Build a particle board form that has the radius of bend you wish to achieve. Glue laminate 3x1/4" boards clamped to your form for a 3/4" thickness.

For more info google "wood laminate bending" or variants thereof...
